The
new SquareShooter by Winegard is designed for high definition (high
resolution) digital TV. HDTV (High
Definition
TV) has 10 times more picture detail than analog signals and the
SquareShooter receives these HDTV signals at
greater
distances! For example — Analog range is 45 miles; Digital range is 50
miles.
With
HDTV, advantages include more detailed pictures, high quality sound,
plus there’s no "snow" or weak signal area with this
technology. You receive a perfect
picture on your TV, or no
picture at all.
Because
of its size and versatile installation options, it can be mounted
practically anywhere for the best
DTV/HDTV
reception such as on wall, fascias, roofs, patios, attics, or railings.
Units come standard with two mounts- one wall mount and one floor mount.
With the addition of our DS-1000 pole mount which meets DirecTV and Dish Network’s wind load
requirements, the SquareShooter™, when
mounted above a satellite dish and diplexed with the satellite system,
will incorporate satellite and off-air
signal onto one coax cable.
The
SquareShooter has exceptional reception characteristics for High-band
VHF and UHF channels 7-69. It is tunable for increased Low-band VHF
performance by rotating the antenna from the horizontal plane to the
vertical plane (usually 5-15 degrees) (rotation bracket included). This
makes the antenna more resonate in the Low-band VHF channels 2-6 with
excellent reception characteristics in the 0-15 mile range. This
rotation of the antenna element may also assist in mitigating any
co-channel interference issues (a signal meter is recommended for this
application).
